WAMP - the Hungarian Design Market 10 am - 6 pm on 25th March 2007 at the House of Future (former Millenáris)
More than 3500 Hungarians, tourists and ex patriots visit the Hungarian Design Market, the WAMP every month, to find unique, high quality design products from Hungarian designers. The WAMP follows the example of the London and New York markets and has as main objective to establish a regular forum for design and applied art products.
The other main objective of the Hungarian Design Market is to create a more intense relationship between artists and people by trasmitting values to everyone. This objective has gained evidence since most artist believe that the main success of the market is the direct feedback from visitors.
A growing number of Hungarian designers will be presented on the WAMP (more than 90), as more and more artists believe in the uniquiness of the event. A wide range of design objects, such as jewellery, textiles, ceramics, glassware, children's toys and games, cake design will be presented.
The main focus of the upcoming WAMP will be Design in Gastronomy. Design labelled wines can be tasted at the stand of Késői Szüret broadcasting programme of Radiocafe, delicatess food, cake and chocolate design as well as design wrapping boxes of Tuk-Tuk will also be presented and available for all interested.
A trendy dining table will also be presented by the textile designer Zsuzsa Ratkai to show us how design dining should be.
Due to the great success on the last WAMP, Lushlife Lounge Session: Dj Konrad will also be playing this time from 2 pm and a special cosy chill out corner will await those longing for a chat or some rest.
This will be the last WAMP organised on the winter location in the House of Future since WAMP will be moving back to plain air Erzséber square from April 2007.
Angel performances and a creative corner will make the day attractive also for children.
