The special guest of Finn Fatale event, Harri Koskinen, is one of the best-known Finnish designers in the world these days. He came to Budapest for the invitation of WAMP. He has been working for companies like Artek, Finlandia Vodka, Iittala or a Marimekko, just to mention a few names. He has been honoured with many national and international awards. Koskinen’s most well know design object, the block lamp is an object by Design House Stockholm and the New York’s Museum of Modern Art, MoMA, also added the Block lamp to its collection. The Re-interpreting Nature Finnish design exhibition studied how Finnish design of the 2000s addresses interpretations of nature. It presented the ways in which designers perceive the ever-changing world around them. The exhibition featured one-off works of applied art along with products manufactured in series, technological innovations and new applications of traditional methods and materials. Pecha Kucha Nights are originated from Tokyo and are organised in two hundred cities worldwide, here architects, designers and artists introduce their work. The secret of the brief, focused and interesting presentations lies in the one and only rule of the night: presenters can show 20 pictures, each for 20 seconds. At WAMP - Pecha Kucha Night and party it was proven that short, concise and cool presentations attracted large audience. The WAMP Design Fair came forward within the scope of Finn Fatale programs in the imposing Museum of Applied Arts with a range of Hungarian Finnish and Scandinavian design products, cool accessories and watches from Aron design store, as well as from Hungarian designers. The freshly graduated designers were highlighted to introduce their freshness and creativeness; moreover the two best designers won a special Finlandia prize.
